We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Community Mobiliser to be part of our dedicated team driving the M’thunzi (Shade) project in Malawi. As a Community Mobiliser, you’ll play a pivotal role in promoting agroforestry technologies among tea smallholder farmers, ensuring they receive vital training and support to enhance gender equality, environmental sustainability, and economic prosperity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Pilot and provide feedback on farmer trainings and toolkit resources to optimize program impact.
- Assist farmers in agroforestry farming management and distribute necessary materials.
- Recruit and engage lead farmers, VSLA agents, and block leaders, collaborating closely with extension staff.
- Monitor progress through on-site visits and regular interactions, updating M&E data on agreed KPIs.
- Collaborate with Tea Trust staff to ensure quality tree seedlings are produced and distributed.
- Collect case studies to showcase the impact of farmer participation on land and households.
- Identify and address any risks or issues affecting farmer engagement or project outcomes.
- Organize field visits, meetings, and reviews, and support the development of Agroforestry demonstration plots.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry or Agricultural Extension.
- Proven 3 year experience in community mobilization, project implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilities.
