We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Community Mobiliser to be part of our dedicated team driving the M’thunzi (Shade) project in Malawi. As a Community Mobiliser, you’ll play a pivotal role in promoting agroforestry technologies among tea smallholder farmers, ensuring they receive vital training and support to enhance gender equality, environmental sustainability, and economic prosperity.

About ETP

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pilot and provide feedback on farmer trainings and toolkit resources to optimize program impact.
  2. Assist farmers in agroforestry farming management and distribute necessary materials.
  3. Recruit and engage lead farmers, VSLA agents, and block leaders, collaborating closely with extension staff.
  4. Monitor progress through on-site visits and regular interactions, updating M&E data on agreed KPIs.
  5. Collaborate with Tea Trust staff to ensure quality tree seedlings are produced and distributed.
  6. Collect case studies to showcase the impact of farmer participation on land and households.
  7. Identify and address any risks or issues affecting farmer engagement or project outcomes.
  8. Organize field visits, meetings, and reviews, and support the development of Agroforestry demonstration plots.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry or Agricultural Extension.
  • Proven 3 year experience in community mobilization, project implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilities.
