Collections Officer


Reporting to the Administration and Collections Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for Monitoring late-stage accounts and providing recommendations and status updates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow up on defaulters and report on their statuses
  • Update loan statuses on the loan management system as client’s arrears position changes.
  • Ensure that all off payroll clients are followed up for payment and promised to pay clients are followed before due date of payment.
  • Follow up on deceased clients for documents and prepare claim submission to insurer for payment.
  • Comprehensive and accurate records record keeping.
  • Analyse the loan book on credit balances to ensure that the balances are indeed from the client’s deductions and not misallocation.
  • Prepare refunds for approval and ensure that once approved client’s accounts are credited accordingly.
  • Collections administration, including book cleanups, debit order payment processes, managing the clearing account, overseeing the bank postings and preparation and submission of the Daily Processing Report (DPR).
  • Managing the customer queries associated with collections processes and related issues.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree in Commerce or equivalent
  • Microfinance and collections environment background
  • Experience with payroll deduction system (Payment Solutions Malawi)
