Job Title: Clinician

 

Job Specification:

The incumbent shall ensure the smooth operation and delivery of healthcare services within a clinical setting. Meticulously managing all aspects of the facility’s day-to-day running.

Duties and Tasks

  • Referring patients to specialists or other healthcare providers for further evaluation or management of specific conditions.
  • Prescribing medications, including selecting appropriate drug therapy, dosage, and route of administration.
  • Providing guidance on medication adherence, potential side effects, and interactions with other medications or substance
  • Educating patients about their health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Offering counselling on lifestyle modifications, preventive measures, and disease management techniques.
  • Addressing patients’ concerns, questions, and misconceptions regarding their health and prescribed treatments.
  • Conducting health screenings and assessments, such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, to identify risk factors and promote early detection of health conditions.
  • Providing basic medical care services, including first aid treatment, wound care, and management of minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Adhering to evidence-based guidelines, best practices, and clinical protocols to minimize medical errors and adverse events.
  • Conducting thorough assessments of patients’ medical history, symptoms, and physical examinations.
  • Work with government staff to ensure all supplies required for the smoothing running of the clinic are always available.

 

 Qualifications

  • Certificate in clinical medicine, those who will have a diploma in clinical medicine will have an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience of working in dispensary
  • Be Registered with Medical Council of Malawi
