Chikwawa District Council

Chikwawa District Council with support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will for five (5) years, implement critical health and social welfare activities through a Government to Government (G2G) agreement at the district level and contribute to the improvement of HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health (MCH), family planning (FP), Tuberculosis (TB), Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), nutrition and social welfare service delivery. To achieve the intended objectives of the agreement, Chikwawa District Council intends to hire additional health care workers (HCWs) and support staff.

The council therefore invites suitably qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant positions existing in Chikwawa:

JOB TITLE: CLINICAL TECHNICIAN

Grade: HK/M8

Location: Chikwawa District Council

Duties:

i. Supervise staff under him/her in daily work of cleaning wards and giving drugs to patients as prescribed.
ii. Order drugs and ensure that they are economically used and that dangerous drugs are properly recorded.
iii. Diagnose patient’s problems and prescribe treatment.
iv. Select patients for review by senior medical officer on his/her routine visits and send urgent cases for senior medical officer’s actions.
v. Prepare work schedule and monthly returns of patients and staff.
vi. Conduct ward rounds.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine obtained from a recognized and reputable institution and be a registered member of Medical Council of Malawi.

ALL INTERESTED CANDIDATES MUST BE PREPARED TO WORK IN REMOTE/HARD TO REACH AREAS OF THE DISTRICT FOLLOWING A SET DEPLOYMENT PLAN.
ALL INTERESTED CANDIDATES MUST BE PREPARED TO REMAIN WITHIN THE DISTRICT FOR A PERIOD OF NOT LESS THAN 5 YEARS.
