Islamic Health Association Of Malawi

The Islamic Health Association of Malawi (IHAM) is an umbrella association co-owned by Eleven Islamic NGO’s offering Healthcare in Malawi. IHAM has 21 Health Facilities located in the South and Central Regions Of Malawi. IHAM facilities are situated in urban, remote and hard to reach areas. The objectives of IHAM include :

(i) To ensure that the health needs of the poor and everyone are addressed.

(ii) To actively promote and support closer partnership among Islamic related Health services, the Government of Malawi and other stakeholders so that they speak with one voice

(iii) To strengthen the capacity of members in the provision of health care

In order to achieve the above objectives, IHAM wishes to fill the following vacant positions to be based in one of its facilities in Mangochi:

Position: Clinical Officers (Grade I) – 2 Positions


Applicants must have a minimum of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine or its equivalent from a well-recognized institution and at least two years’ experience.

Duties include:

a) Provide clinical management for patients in ward and OPD,

b) Provide antiretroviral medications in line with National ART guidelines,

c) Keep accurate and complete records of patient care encounter,

d) Manage maternity department (obstetrics, labour ward, pre-natal and post-natal),

e) Manage Malnutrition related illness in kids and adults, And do all services assigned his/her office in relation to patent care delivery
