Civic Education Officer at The Law Commission

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants to fill the vacant position of Civic
Education Officer (LC8) existing in the Law Commission (the Commission).

Reporting to the Principal Civic Education Officer, the Civic Education Officer shall be
responsible for public awareness to the general public on the Laws of Malawi and Laws under review by the Commission.

Qualifications and Experience

1. A Bachelor of Arts Degree in Humanities or Communication obtained from a recognized institution.
2. 2 years work experience in civic education matters.

 

 

Principal duties include:

1. Organizing civic education materials for distribution to the general public and organizations;
2. Custodian of civic education materials and information;
3. Organizing civic education campaigns on reports of the Commission and status of the law in general;
4. Participating in civic education activities pertaining to various law reform activities of the Commission
5. Assisting in planning a work programme for the Civic Education & Public Relations Unit;
6. Assisting in compiling annual reports on civic education campaign; and
7. Assisting in liaising with Programme Officers on the overall activities of civic education in their respective Programmes.

SALARY: Competitive salary will be offered in line with the Law Commission Staff Terms and
Conditions of Service.
