Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities
Background: The UN development system annually produces an Annual Country Results Report, which is presented to the national government for accountability. The report is also widely shared with key stakeholders—including bilateral partners, civil society, and parliamentarians—to ensure full visibility of UN results. Additionally, the report contributes to other mandated regional and global reporting processes, including the annual report of the Chair of the UNSDG to the Economic and Social Council on the UN Development Coordination Office (DCO), highlighting the work of the Resident Coordinator (RC) system. To enhance the quality and impact of the 2024 UN Annual Country Results Report for Malawi, the United Nations in Malawi is seeking a creative Graphic Designer with at least two years of experience in graphic design and editing. The selected designer will be responsible for producing a visually engaging and professionally designed report. Under the supervision of the Head of RCO and Strategic Planner, the Graphic Designer will efficiently employ creativity, functionality, innovation, and technology to: – Utilize creativity, functionality, innovation, and technology to deliver a high-quality final product. – Work closely with the Data, Results Monitoring and Reporting Officer and the Communications Officer to select relevant photos, tables, indexes, maps, infographics, and graphs for inclusion in the report. – Ensure all visual elements are accurately and effectively integrated into the report to enhance readability and understanding. – Integrate barcodes linking to success story videos into the Annual Country Results Report, ensuring seamless accessibility for readers. – Deliver a final document that is between 25 and 30 pages, ensuring it meets all technical and content requirements. – Incorporate feedback from supervisors and stakeholders to produce a polished and professional final product. – Design and produce visually appealing and informative 2024 UN Annual Country Results Report for Malawi in the appropriate style and layout.
Qualifications/special skills
An advanced university (master’s degree or equivalent) in Graphic design, Animation, Virtual arts, Literature, social Sciences, Arts, or related field is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. 2 years relevant professional experience in graphic design is required. Ability to design full reports and similar documents, and create infographics, charts, tables to be integrated into the designed version, and create a good experience blend of the core reporting narrative, story sidebars and photos. Strong practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, CorelDraw, Final Cut HD, web design tools such as Dreamweaver and Flash, etc. is required. At least 3 examples of previous works and references.
