Chief Clinical Services Officer at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital Limited

Mwaiwathu Private Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Chief Clinical Services Officer tenable at the Hospital along Chileka Road in Blantyre.

Position Context

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Clinical Services Officer will lead the overall development, service delivery and management of the clinical department in line with the Hospital’s Strategic Plan.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Provide clinical and administrative leadership to support current and future initiatives in the delivery of high-quality care.
• Responsible for clinical performance using the Performance Management System across the continuum of care, including the growth and development of systems of care as well as achievement of clinical performance.
• Develop and implement clinical policies, objectives and initiatives in collaboration with the clinical arms of the hospital.
• Review clinical operations to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Manage clinical departmental functions within a broader corporate function.
• Champion quality and safety efforts within the organization and ensure implementation of clinically reliable process standards.
• Promote long-term partnerships with clinicians.
• Identify and develop business relationships with relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in clinical and other activities through various committees of the hospital
• Compile monthly departmental reports for the CEO and quarterly reports for the Board
• Compile annual clinical budgets and monitor the performance of the budget
• Develop annual clinical training plans.

Academic and Professional Requirements

• Masters Degree in Clinical Practice or related field
• A higher qualification in Clinical Practice or related field will be an added advantage

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in clinical practice, 5 years of which should be in hospital management at senior level.
• Proven track record in hospital or health related institutional administration/management.
