Center Coordinator at Scripture Union Malawi

Scripture Union Malawi is faith-based organization dedicated to engaging children, youth, and families with the word of God. Our mission is to encourage people of all ages to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer, to spread the teachings of Christ and foster spiritual growth in communities across the country.

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Center Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our campsite facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong Christian faith, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for outdoor ministry.

Key Responsibilities

– Manage all aspects of center operations, including facility maintenance, guest services, and center coordination

– Ensure the campsite adheres to all safety regulations and maintains a clean, welcoming environment- Supervise and train center staff and volunteers

– Coordinate with visiting groups to plan and execute their retreat experiences

– Manage center budget and financial operations

– Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase center usage- Maintain and upgrade center facilities and equipment as needed

– Foster a Christ-centered atmosphere that aligns with our mission and values.

Qualifications

– Strong personal Christian faith and commitment to our organization’s mission- Diploma/Certificate in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

– 1+ years of experience in campsite or hospitality management

– Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management

– Physical ability to perform tasks related to campsite maintenance and outdoor activities.

Preferred Qualifications

– Experience in Christian camping or retreat center management

– Knowledge of outdoor education and recreational programming- Familiarity with environmental stewardship practices

Personal Qualities

– Strong commitment to Christian values and principles

– Passion for outdoor ministry and creating meaningful experiences for guests

– Adaptable and able to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment- Team player with a servant leader.
