Role Overview

As the Business Development Manager, you will be based in Lilongwe and will be instrumental in driving the growth of our business in the central and northern regions of Malawi. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for market analysis, sales strategies, client relationship management, proposal development, and contributing to the overall strategic vision of the company.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, potential clients, and opportunities for business expansion.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a liaison between clients and internal teams.
  • Prepare compelling proposals and presentations tailored to client requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s overall business strategy.
  • Provide leadership, manage a motivated team, and contribute to training content delivery based on client needs.
  • Generate reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the capacity building and consultancy industry.
  • Strong understanding of market and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Clean driver’s license.
