Business Development Manager

Job Summary:
Astria Learning is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to lead the promotion and sales of the Astria Digital Library (ADL) and hardware solutions (laptops, tablets, bundles) across academic institutions in Africa. This strategic role focuses on forming strong institutional partnerships, collaborating with C-level stakeholders and eCampus partners, and accelerating digital transformation in higher education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Promotion of ADL and Hardware Solutions
- Actively promote Astria Digital Library as a comprehensive digital academic content platform.
- Lead sales of laptops, tablets, and education technology solutions to universities.
- Customize offers by integrating ADL, hardware, and value-added services tailored to institutional needs.
2. Strategic Partnership & eCampus Development
- Identify, engage, and secure partnerships with academic institutions across Malawi.
- Work closely with the eCampus Partners Universities to align solutions with broader digital campus strategies.
- Qualify leads based on institutional readiness for digital transformation and infrastructure development.
- Present ADL and hardware offerings to Vice Chancellors, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Deans, and decision-makers in persuasive, data-driven ways.
3. Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional partners.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with C-level executives, IT directors, procurement officers, and academic stakeholders.
- Ensure satisfaction, renewals, and referrals through ongoing relationship nurturing and issue resolution.
4. Proposal, Pricing & Contract Management
- Draft customized proposals;
- Lead negotiations on pricing, licensing, service-level agreements (SLAs), and timelines.
- Coordinate with legal, operations, and executive teams to finalize agreements.
5. Market Intelligence & Representation
- Track trends in EdTech, hardware pricing, and competitor offerings.
- Provide strategic insights and identify new opportunities for growth.
- Represent Astria Learning at conferences, expos, and webinars, boosting brand presence.
6. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records of all leads, accounts, and communications.
- Submit monthly/quarterly/annual performance reports using KPIs and templates provided by the Company.
- Ensure timely delivery of all reports and data required by the HR and Operations Teams.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field;
- Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in EdTech, SaaS, or hardware solutions.
- Strong understanding of the African higher education landscape and procurement processes.
- Proven track record in institutional sales and partnership development.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
