Concern invites applications from interested candidates qualified for the following position:

Business Development Coordinator (1 Vacancy)

Contract Duration: One (1) Year
Duty Station: Lilongwe

Reporting to the Country Director and as a member of senior management, the Business Development Coordinator will lead the coordination and oversight of grants and contracts portfolio to ensure efficient and high-quality grants management processes within Concern Malawi.

This entails managing donor portfolios and relations, identifying funding opportunities, developing quality funding instruments such as concept notes, proposals and reports and facilitating learning. S/he will represent Concern Worldwide at key donor meetings while also conducting internal programme reviews and workshops. Additionally, s/he will take charge of grant
management processes, including leading opening and closing meetings, to ensure compliance with internal and donor requirements and to support team capacity building.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in International Development, Project Management or a related discipline
  • At least five years INGO experience with at least two years working in a programme development role
  • Familiarity with key humanitarian & development donors & their specific reporting & compliance
    requirements
  • Significant experience in proposal development, identifying and documenting lessons learned and developing effective communication resources for different audiences
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills; Good networking abilities, interpersonal communication and presentation skills ideally in multicultural contexts and with colleagues/partners/stakeholders at different levels
