As we expand, we seek a dedicated and skilled Breeder Manager to join our team to oversee and enhance our breeding operations.

Job Summary:

The Breeder Manager will be responsible for overseeing the breeding operations at Kelfoods, including the health, productivity, and welfare of our breeder flock. This role involves managing daily farm operations, ensuring optimal breeding conditions, overseeing biosecurity measures, and leading a team of farm personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Breeding Operations Management: Oversee all breeding activities, including flock management, egg production, and hatchability.

• Health & Welfare: Ensure the health and welfare of the breeder flock, with strict adherence to biosecurity and animal welfare standards.

• Performance Monitoring: Monitor breeding performance metrics, such as fertility rates, hatchability, and productivity, to meet set production goals.

• Team Leadership: Manage, train, and support a team of farm personnel, promoting a positive and productive work environment.

• Biosecurity & Compliance: Implement and monitor biosecurity measures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

• Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain detailed records on flock performance, health, and production; prepare and present reports to senior management.

• Resource Management: Oversee feed, water, and equipment management to maintain optimal living and breeding conditions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in poultry management or a similar role in the agriculture sector.

• Proven experience in team leadership and farm management.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Knowledge of poultry production software and systems is an advantage.
