Post: Bill Transcriber (Grade I)
Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment

Qualifications
Applicants should be in possession of either a Bachelor of Arts (Languages) or Bachelor of Education (Languages) obtained from accredited institutions; Should demonstrate competence in Quark Express: have experience in transcribing documents for publication and be in possession of Paralegal Certificate.
Duties
- Preparing draft revised pages of the Laws of Malawi;
- Proof-reading Author Proofs of the revised pages;
- Preparing Law Revision Order of Approval;
- Transcribing Bills and Subsidiary Legislation for publication;
- Processing publication of Bills and Subsidiary Legislation;
- Preparing corrigenda where necessary on the published legislation;
- Supervising Assistant Bill Transcriber and other subordinate staff;
- Carrying out any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Note:
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
