The Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) is a

regulatory body that was established in 1999 by an Act of Parliament with the mandate to coordinate and facilitate technical, entrepreneurial and vocational education and training in Malawi. Apart from the Secretariat in Lilongwe, the Authority has three regional service centres in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre.

Employment opportunities have now risen within the Authority for the position of Assistant Training Programs Specialist (Apprenticeship) for which the Authority invites suitably qualified professionals to apply.

This is an exciting role that reports to the Senior Training Programs Specialist (Apprenticeship). The job holder effectively and efficiently assists in the administration and implementation of Apprenticeship Training Programs.

 

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Participating in awareness programs and career guidance sessions to promote available Apprenticeship courses;
  • Maintaining updated database of Apprentices for proper management of the data;
  • Participating in the preparation of Apprenticeship contracts for proper management of the apprenticeship scheme:
  • Apprenticeship contracts for proper management of the apprenticeship scheme;
  • Conducting in monitoring and inspection of Apprentices in the Training Institutions and industry in order to sustain quality of the apprenticeship program:
  • Attending to and following up complaints and queries related to Apprenticeship
  • Training matters as reported by apprentices, training institutions and industry for smooth delivery of the program:
  • Participating in the recruitment and selection of pre-apprentices:
  • Facilitating external verification of assessment at both institutions and industry for timely certification and completion of training:
  • Compiling and submitting Apprenticeship training activity reports to facilitate review of performance:
  • Receiving, checking and recording all apprenticeship training program materials and equipment for proper accountability;
  • Administering logbook distribution to all apprentices to facilitate teaching and learning.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

  • Bachelor of Education (technical or equivalent)
  • Two (2) years relevant qualification experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player.
