Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons of Malawi origin to fill various vacant posts within the company tenable at Head Office as follows;

ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR – GRADE EG 7

Job Specifications

  • Developing Project Bills of Quantities and cost estimates.
  • Participating in preparation of tender documents.
  • Supervision of consultants and contractors on sites.
  • Facilitating and advising project stakeholders on permits and any licensing requirements required.
  • Checking and reviewing contractors work methods procedures and ensuring site safety.
  • Validating payment certificates and variation orders.
  • Coordinating interaction of project stakeholder
  • Checking and validating that project designs are in compliance with specifications and
    standards
  • Checking that project submittals are appropriately recorded and archived.
  • Inspecting contractors’ work and reporting any deviations to Project Manager.
  • Inspecting quality of buildings equipment installations, materials and tools supplied
    and witnessing commissioning tests.
  • Monitoring reporting any form of non-compliance by contractor with regard to specified work methods and standards.
  • Assisting in preparation and implementation of Project Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Post construction reviews and recommendation of areas of improvement.

 

 

Person Specifications

  • Holder of Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying
  • At least 25 years of age and above
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working on an engineering project related environment. Experience in power related projects and ability to use any relevant Quantity Surveying software is an added advantage
  • Skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Project
  • Ability to read, interpret engineering documentation and apply engineering skills to review designs
  • Proficient in both oral and written English language
  • Ability to work effectively with teams and work to tight deadlines
