Blantyre Water Board

Blantyre Water Board is a government-owned institution established and reconstituted under the Waterworks Act of 1995 to supply potable water to people of Blantyre City and other surrounding areas. The Board is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacant position of ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT (Non-Established) for a period of 36 (thirty-six) months.

Applicants must have the following attributes:

  • At least a Diploma in Financial Accounting or related field
  • Must possess Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
  • At least 2 years of proven work experience in budgeting and management accounting
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge in excel
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suit of packages

The successful applicant will be responsible for:-

  1. Assisting in preparing management accounts;
  2. Preparing sales journal and arrears report;
  3. Reconciling debtors control account;
  4. Maintaining fixed assets register;
  5. Reconciling fixed assets schedules and stock control account;
  6. Preparing audit schedules;
  7. Preparing periodic expenditure variance analysis reports;
  8. Performing any other duties relevant to the post
