case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the
Civil Service:

MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE

Post: Assistant Librarian (Grade K)

Salary: Within the Grade K salary scale segment

Location: Ministry of Agriculture

Qualifications:

Applicants should be in possession of a Diploma in Library Studies obtained from recognized institutions.

Duties

(a) Preparing Supply orders and budgets for the Library collections;

(b) Receiving library collections;

(c) Maintaining up to date records for text reference books, periodicals, journals and abstracts;

(d) Cataloguing Library collections in the Library;

(e) Labeling all new and old collections in the Library;

(f) Repairing damaged collections;

(g) Lending and retrieving library collections;

(h) Borrowing and returning collections through loan system on behalf of the department;

(i) Carrying out regular shelve reading;

(j) Acquiring collections necessary for the Library;

(k) Preparing and submitting reports;

(l) Any other duties as may be assigned.

Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required
during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that
they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation
in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
