MINISTRY OF LABOUR

Post : Assistant Instructor (Carpentry and Joinery) (Grade K)
Salary : Within the Grade K salary scale segment
Location : Ministry of Labor (Community Technical College)

Qualifications:
Applicants must be in possession of a Malawi Certificate of Education (MSCE) and either Malawi Advanced Craft Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery/Malawi TEVETA Advanced Certificate (level 3) or City and Guilds Part I Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery/City and Guilds Technician Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery (with red ribbon obtained after successful completion or recognized indentured apprenticeship in the profession

Duties:

  • Managing construction projects in public housing;
  • Advising on maintenance of lease buildings;
  • Supervising the preparation of Public Housing Projects for inclusion in the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP);
  • Maintain and supervise public property;
  • Preparing maintenance schedule of Public Housing;
  • Spearheading the preparation of strategic and annual work plans and budget of
    public housing infrastructure sector;
  • Providing guidance in the evaluation and monitoring of public housing infrastructure
    projects/programs and plans: and
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned.

Note:
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews
that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
