Roads Fund Administration

The Roads Fund Administration is a statutory body established to raise, administer and account for funds for the construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of public roads in Malawi. Due to its rapid expansion, the Institution requires the services of suitably qualified Malawians to fill positions summarized below:

Assistant ICT Officer

Grade: GS4

Place of work: RFA Head Office, Lilongwe

 

 

Job Role

Providing technical support and assistance to users of computer infrastructure and technologies, the job holder will be responsible for:

1) Ensuring that all computer systems are operational at all times

2) Performing troubleshooting to diagnose, resolve problems and escalate to appropriate officers in event technical issue is out of scope

3) Maintaining records of all system related issues reported by Staff, checking computer hardware to ensure optimal functionality , installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications, monitoring and maintaining Local Area Network and Wide Area Network to minimize disruption of services,

4) Providing orientation and guidance to users on how to operate software and computer equipment

5) Organising and scheduling of upgrades and maintenance with minimal disruption to services, maintaining records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule

6) Ensuring computer and network equipment re-order levels are maintained to avoid equipment shortages and carrying out backups in accordance with backup and recovery policy

Minimum Requirements

1. BSc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Business Information Technology or relevant field.

2. 1-2 years of relevant experience

3. Knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet application, networks and operating systems;

4. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills;

5. Good communication skills and presentation skills;

6. High level of integrity with no criminal record.
