OVERVIEW
Financial Assistance Change Education (FACE) is a non-profit organization located in Zalewa, Southern Region of Malawi. Our mission is to provide high-quality secondary school and vocational training for the youth of Malawi by adopting modern technologies and utilizing a practical learning approach that equips students with relevant skills and knowledge.
We are looking for highly qualified and motivated individuals to fill the following vacant positions in our Vocational training and Secondary Schools.
ASSISTANT ICT INSTRUCTOR
ROLE PURPOSE
The Assistant ICT Instructor will support the ICT Instructor in developing and delivering ICT training courses, managing ICT infrastructure and resources, and fostering a positive learning environment. The Assistant ICT Instructor must be passionate about empowering youth through education and possess strong technical skills in the field of ICT.
SCOPE OF ROLE
Role Dimensions:
- Assisting in delivering ICT training courses and workshops under the guidance of the ICT Instructor.
- Supporting the management and maintenance of ICT infrastructure and resources at FACE.
- Assisting in the development of instructional materials, assessments, and learning resources
- Providing guidance and support to students in their ICT-related projects and activities.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Please note that this job description provides an overview of the responsibilities and requirements for the Assistant ICT Instructor role, but it is not limited to these tasks. The Assistant ICT Instructor may be required to take on additional responsibilities or tasks as needed to support the organization’s goals and objectives.
Instructional Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and delivery of ICT training courses and workshops, following the organization’s curriculum and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the ICT Instructor to prepare lesson plans, training materials, and assessments for ICT courses.
- Support the implementation of various teaching methodologies and techniques to engage learners and cater to their individual needs.
- Assist in conducting regular assessments and providing constructive feedback to students on their progress.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and collaboration.
ICT Management Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the ICT Instructor in managing and maintaining ICT infrastructure, equipment, and resources at FACE
- Support the smooth operation of computer labs, networks, and software systems.
- Assist in coordinating the procurement, installation, and setup of ICT-related resources.
- Aid in troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating repairs or maintenance as needed.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in the field of ICT education and support the integration of relevant technologies into training programs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Malawi TEVET Certificate in ICT Level 3 or its equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICT instruction or related roles, preferably in a vocational or educational setting.
- Familiarity with managing ICT infrastructure and resources is an advantage.
- Exposure to curriculum development and instructional design principles is desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in a range of ICT tools, software applications, and programming languages.
- Basic knowledge of computer networks, hardware, and software systems.
- Familiarity with learning management systems and educational technology tools is a plus.
Competencies:
- Good communication and presentation skills to effectively convey technical concepts to learners.
- Ability to adapt and assist in adjusting teaching methods to address diverse learning needs.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills to support instructional activities and resources.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work effectively in a team with instructors and staff members.
