Job Opportunity

InfraWorks Holdings LTD is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Assistant Finance Officer tenable in Lilongwe. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and managing petty cash, among other duties. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Infraworks Holdings LLC is a trade enterprise which owns Infraworks Development LLC – a consulting engineering and project management firm, 365 Modelling Solutions LLC – a general trading entity focusing of supply of ICT hardware and software, printing and branding services.

1. Functional Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Finance & Administration Manager, t h e Assistant Finance Officer will undertake the following tasks/duties:

  • Ensure all financial records are updated on a daily basis to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Record and manage accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Process customer receipts promptly and accurately.
  • Handle cheque payment processing efficiently.
  • Manage petty cash, including disbursements, reconciliations, and replenishments.
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Assist in preparation of management accounts
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files.
  • Any other duties assigned.

3. Required Skills, Experience and Educational Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum of a diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Functional competencies

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  •  Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, procedures, and processes.
  • Knowledge of local legislative changes which affect all relevant areas of work.
