Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians for the following vacancies existing at Nsanje District Council

POST : Assistant Agriculture Extension and Development Officer (AAEDO)
GRADE : K/M9

QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in General Agriculture, Diploma in food nutrition and livelihood security from recognized institution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Planning, implementation, coordination and monitoring of Agricultural Extension Programmes, projects and activities in a section.
2. Interpret agricultural development and extension policies to farmers in a section.
3. Formulate strategies for implementing Agricultural development programmes, projects and activities in liaison with local leaders and other stakeholders in a section.
4. Provide technical support to farmer based organizations in management of farmer organizations through organized training and coaching.
5. Conduct agricultural production estimates in a section.
6. In liaison with stakeholders formulate strategies for achieving
   food security in a section.
7. Organize plan and implement on farm demonstrations on various subjects in a section.
8. Facilitate implementation of mobile van campaigns in a section.
9. Review farming families’ statistics in a section on a yearly basis.
10. Attend fortnightly training sessions organized by the EPA.
11. Maintain relevant data bank for all agricultural enterprises in a section.
12. Provide training services to farmers and stakeholders as per demand and requirement in a section.
13. Organize and implement field days, tours to successful demonstration in a section.
14. Prepare and submit reports to Agricultural Extension Development (AEDO) regularly.
