African Union Sports Council
The AFRICAN UNION SPORTS COUNCIL REGION 5 is one of the five Regions of the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) (Yaound); the sports arm of the African Union, once the Organisation of African Unity. Its headquarters are in Gaborone, Botswana. The AUSC Region 5 is a grouping of ten (10) countries in Southern Africa, namely: Angola Botswana Lesotho Eswatini Malawi Mozambique Namibia 5 South Africa Zambia Zimbabwe. The main aim of the AUSC is to use sports to achieve peace, integration and unity in Africa; This primarily entails using sport as a vehicle of encouraging people to develop and come together, irrespective of colour, economic and political status, class or gender.
Malawi has been given the mandate to host the AUSC Region 5 youth games scheduled for December, 2022 in Lilongwe. The Local Organizing Committee for these games has been constituted and is therefore looking for mature, ambitious, result oriented and professionals with respect to work ethics to fill the following vacant positions tenable in Lilongwe for a contract period of 6 to 10months
ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
(2 Positions Tenable at Bingu Stadium in Lilongwe)
Qualifications:
Applicants should be in possession of a diploma in either Accounting, from recognized institutions
Experience:
At least 4 years work experience. Experience in a computerized accounting packages is essential.
Duties
- She/he is responsible for processing payments;
- Check monthly, quarterly and annual expenditure financial statements for errors;
- Prepare monthly expenditure revenue and commitment
- Maintain manual ledgers;
- Prepare bank reconciliation, etc.
- Updating creditors and assets accounts
- Preparation of monthly salaries for all employed staff
- Ensuring safe keeping of all accounting documents
- Any other duties that may be assigned to him from time to time
