St Gabriel’s Hospital is a Mission Hospital under the Archdiocese of Lilongwe and is a member
of Christian health association of Malawi (CHAM). The hospital is located 50Kms west of Lilongwe capital city and is accessible by a tarmac road.
St Gabriel’s Hospital therefore invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the
following positions that exists in the accounts section.
Assistant Accountant – Grade K (2 positions)
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To support the Hospital accountant that all accounts related works are done in a timely and
professional manner

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations statement
- Periodically supervise the cashiers on their daily discharge of the works
- Ensure project expenditures are in line with the project budget and liase with the project
coordinator on the day to day project activities. - Maintain an up to date and orderly filling system.
- Timely posting of all transactions into SAGE system
- Follow up of all outstanding sundry debtors.
- Participate in the quarterly and yearend stock taking.
- Assist the Hospital accountant in the preparation of yearend accounting schedules and
production of final accounts. - Maintenance of fixed asset registrar
Educational Qualifications and experiences.
- A minimum of a Diploma in Accounting obtained from accredited institution with 2 years work experience.
- Malawi school certificate of education (MSCE)
- IT Profiency and those with good knowledge of SAGE LINE 50 will have an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with ability to work with colleques at all levels
including non finance members of staff.
