TRAINING PROGRAMMES SPECIALIST – FORMAL APPRENTICESHIP
Job Responsibilities
Apprenticeship Training Programmes Specialist – Formal Apprenticeship will be responsibleforeffective and efficient facilitation, promotion and implementation of the Formal Apprenticeship Programs in the regions.
3.1 KEY DUTIES
- a)Annual plans and budgets and reporting
- Compile and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual plans and activity reports to facilitate review of performance
- Participate in the preparation offormulating and implementing weekly, monthly, quarterly budgets and work plans for formal apprenticeship
- Report progress for formal apprenticeship programme intervention covering both the TEVET Provider institutions and industry.
- b)Training delivery
- Conduct pre-inspection and surveillance of unregistered TEVET providers
- Collect, capture and update database of apprentices in both the TEVET Provider institutions and Industry to ensure proper apprenticeship management
- Coordinate awareness programmes and career guidance sessions to promote the Formal Apprenticeship Programmes.
- Facilitate timely disbursement of training subsidies/ fees to TEVET Provider Institutions for smooth delivery of training interventions.
- Facilitate and coordinate external verification of assessment in TEVET Provider Institutions and at the Industry for timely certification and completion of training
- Facilitate progression of trainees from informal to formal apprenticeship
- Facilitate implementation of bursary schemes and scholarships
- Facilitate capacity building initiatives for Instructors from TEVET Provider Institutions and Supervisors from the industry.
- Conduct capacity gap analysis for TEVET Provider Institutions for the procurement of tools and refurbishment of equipment.
- Facilitate procurement of external CBET Delivery
- c)Monitoring and Evaluation
- Conduct monitoring of programme delivery and inspection of training in the TEVET Provider Institutions and at the industry.
- Monitor implementation of project-based interventions in the institutions and industry.
Job Context
Reporting to the Senior Training Programs Specialist
Educational Requirements
Bachelor`s degree in Technical Education or Education (humanities or sciences), Social Sciences from a recognized university and any other related field.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
Additional Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages and statistical packages.
