LSPCA is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as an Animal Welfare Officer. The successful candidate will play a key role in building the capacity of our projects by leveraging their expertise in animal welfare. This individual will be responsible for the designing, implementation and reporting of various animal welfare projects as well as providing technical support to other project officers as needed.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and evaluate animal welfare projects in accordance with organizational objectives and donor requirements. – Conduct research and stay updated on best practices in animal health, welfare, and science. – Provide technical support and guidance to project staff and volunteers. – Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize project impact and sustainability. – Prepare comprehensive reports on project activities, outcomes, and impact. – Assist in the development of educational materials and outreach initiatives to raise awareness about animal welfare issues

  • Qualification & Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in animal science, veterinary science/ medicine or a related field.

– Strong knowledge of animal health, welfare, and behavior

– Proven ability to plan, implement, and evaluate projects effectively.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

– Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to the mission and values of LSPCA.

– Experience working in an animal welfare organization or related field.

– Knowledge of national, regional and international regulations related to animal welfare.

– Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
