Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the newly created position of:
ANAETHETIST
Mulanje Mission Hospital is looking to engage a dynamic and self-starting person to take up the position of Anaethetist with strong Christian and professional values.
Reporting to the Medical Officer In-Charge, the Anaethetist will be responsible for:
- Making pre-operative assessment of patients at the wards and in theatre
- Conducting anaesthesia on patients
- Reporting condition changes of a patient to surgeon or relevant attendant
- Managing fluid, electrolytes and acid/base disturbances
- Post-operative management (24 hours).
- Review patients in HDU
- Supervising theatre on clinical aspects
- Ensure adequate supplies & well functioning (availability & maintenance) of anaesthetic equipment
- On the job training of hospital staff in pre-, per- & post-operative management.
Qualifications and personal attributes
- Diploma in Anaethesia obtained from a recognized training institution.
- Registered with the Medical Council of Malawi
- Highly motivated team player
