ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT/CASHIER

Duration: 1 year (renewable)

Job Description:

Loyola Jesuit Secondary School is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant/Cashier to support the school’s financial operations. The role involves handling daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle all cash and cheque transactions, including student fee payments, and issue receipts.
  • Manage petty cash and reconcile it regularly.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Ensure proper filing of receipts, invoices, and other financial documents.
  • Handle any queries related to student accounts and payments.
  • Assist in bank transactions and coordinate deposits when necessary.
  • Adhere to all financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with school regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Bursar in preparing the annual budget and financial audits.

Reporting Lines:

Reports To:

Bursar for daily financial operations, cash handling, and reporting. and the Deputy Head Teacher Administration for overall financial compliance and budgeting tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar accounting or cashier role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Integrity and commitment to handling sensitive financial information.
