Dedza Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (Dedza CCJP), being one of the Eight
CCJPs in Malawi, is a social, advocacy and lobbying arm of the Diocese of Dedza. It
was established in 1997 by the diocese of Dedza in order to participate in the process of
consolidating political change and contribute towards the creation of a just and peaceful
society in Dedza Diocese where people’s rights and dignity of humanity are respected at all
times.It is against this background that Dedza CCJP is inviting applications from suitably
qualified candidates to fill the below position tenable at its headquarters in Dedza
Post Title : Accounts Assistant
Reports to : Accountant
Location : Dedza
Overall Objective of the post
Responsible for supporting all financial and management accounting activities, the successful candidate is to ensure compliance with Dedza Diocese financial policies and
procedures for payments, receipts and cash management and take the responsibility for
the completeness and accuracy of financial accounts for the commission.
Key accountabilities
- Preparing requisitions and payment vouchers
- File supporting documents in logic order
- Overseeing the advance liquidation process with staff members
- Assist to give warning for any budget negative variances
- Assist in preparation of budgets for administration and programs
- Assist in preparation of Financial reports
- Ensure assets are adequately safeguarded
Most Critical Proficiencies
- Good analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer proficient in word processing, presentation tools, and knowledge of accounting software (E.g Quick books)
Minimum Qualification
- Diploma in Financial Accounting with at least two years working experience in Non-
Profit making organization
