The Agricultural Research and Extension Trust (ARET) is Malawi’s premier institution in tobacco research, extension and training services. Established in 1995 and funded primarily by tobacco growers, ARET’s Core activities include development and dissemination of tobacco technologies and training of stakeholders in order to sustain and improve tobacco productivity while conserving the natural resources.
An opportunity has arisen for highly motivated professionals with requisite academic qualifications and technical expertise to fill existing vacant posts that have arisen in ARET as follows:
ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
THE CANDIDATE
This is ideal for someone who is trustworthy, efficient and organized and has an understanding of basic accOunting principles and proficient with compufers and accounting software such as Excel and Sage Products. He/she should be thorough
and accurate with figures, and honest with good bookkeeping skills.

KEY FUNCTION
Reporting to the Management Accountant, the successful candidate will provide administrative support to accounting department with data entry. preparing and processing payments and recording payment transactions, reconciling accounts
and expenditures and handling imprest for various activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
•MSCE with credits in English and Mathematics
•Certificate in Accounting (PAEC/ACCA)
•Minimum of five years of post qualification working experience.
