Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club Limited

Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club Limited (NBBFCLTD) was founded in 1967 and it is the biggest, most decorated and successful football club in Malawi.

NBBFCLTD invites applications from suitably qualified persons with proven hands-on accounting knowledge and experience to fill the full time position of Accountant at its Secretariat in Malawi Postal Corporation Building in Chichiri in Blantyre.

Duties and Responsibilities of the job

Without limiting the generality thereof, the duties and responsibilities includes:

a. Preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, management reports and cash-flow statements;
b. Setting and monitoring budgets and forecasts;
c. Preparation and processing of monthly payroll, together with associated analysis and reconciliations (including gate proceeds from all NBBFCLTD matches);
d. Ensuring that NBBFC’s financial system is accurate, robust, compliant and supports current activities and future growth;
e. Handling the requirements of external auditors and regulators;
f. Reinforcing financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary;
g. Maintenance of the asset register;
h. Contributing fully to the development of NBBFCLTD strategy across all areas of business, challenging assumptions and decision making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans and targets.
Job Qualifications, Requirements and Attributes

a) Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance plus a professional qualification in Accounting i.e. ACCA/CIMA;
b) 5 years’ experience in or similar senior position under minimum supervision;
c) Preferably registered with ICAM;
d) Excellent practical knowledge of Quickbooks;
e) Good football knowledge;
f) Accounting organizational skills;
g) An analytical, Commercial and business awareness;
h) Good communication skills both written and verbal;
i) Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships;
j) A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data;
k) Deadline-oriented and an ability to stick to time constraints;
l) Excellent interpersonal skills;
m) The ability to operate effectively both independently and as part of a team.
