Job Summary

ACCOUNTANT

The Accountant, reporting to the executive Director, will be responsible for financial management, reporting, and compliance for the CSSF Program, ensuring effective utilization of funds in line with donor and organizational policies

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and reconciliations.. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the CSSF Program.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with financial policies and donor requirements.
  • Manage payroll, statutory deductions, and tax compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for efficiency improvements.
  • Support external and internal audits, ensuring financial documentation is in order.
  • Ensure adherence to financial controls and risk management procedures.
  • Provide financial guidance to program teams and ensure proper fund utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in financial management, preferably within NGOs or donor-funded programs.
  • Knowledge of donor financial regulations, particularly Comic Relief and Tilitonse Foundation, is an asset.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
