The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Lilongwe is recruiting a receptionist/administrative assistant for a temporary position with a start date in March/April. This recruitment is open to Malawian nationals and residents.

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Lilongwe is responsible for official and diplomatic relations between Norway and Malawi and Norway and Zambia and the Embassy is also overseeing development cooperation between Norway and these two countries.
We are 6 diplomats and 14 local staff.
The RNE has a temporary vacancy for the position as a receptionist/administrative assistant that will primarily provide receptionist services. The successful candidate is expected to take up this position tentatively on March 31st, 2025. The receptionist/administrative assistant will report to the Head of Administration.
๐๐๐ฒ ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ:
- Provide receptionist services by receiving visitors, answering calls and receive physical mail
- Arrange hotel and travel reservations for visitors and staff members
- Arrange for repairs of office equipment where necessary
- Assist diplomats with secretarial work assigned
- Make sure that vehicles are available for different activities and dairy office run for Diplomats and local employees
- Data capturing
- Managing stationery together with Head of Administration
- Managing newspaper subscriptions together with Head of Administration
- Other tasks assigned by the management
๐๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ข๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ:
- Diploma degree in a subject that is relevant to the key responsibilities
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in a reception
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Candidates who have worked with embassies or NGOs are preferred
- Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken
- Service-minded, welcoming, and solution-oriented
- Structured and detail-oriented
- Must be a resident of Lilongwe and possess a valid residence permit at the start date
