1. Job Title: Nursing Officer (1)

Grade: I (Government Salary Segment)
Reporting to: Senior Nursing Officer
Location: Embangweni Mission Hospital

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop plans to implement nursing policy.
  • Supervise and evaluate activities of nurses and submit reports.
  • Assess staff requirements in-order to facilitate deployment of staff.
  • Provide nursing care to patients.
  • Supervise the recording of data in relevant registers.
  • Supervise the analysis of information and their dissemination to all relevant
  • Stakeholders including submission of weekly reports to the designated officer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from a recognized university
  • Registered/licensed with relevant bodies including Nurses and Midwives council of Malawi
  • At least two years’ experience in a hospital setting. Those with experience in medical rehabilitation nursing setting have an added advantage
  • Good Communication skills
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Team Player
  • Must be a devoted Christian

2. Job Title:Chief Anaesthetic Clinical Therapist (1)

Grade: I (Government Salary Segment)
Reporting to: The Head of Clinical
Location:Embangweni Mission Hospital

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make pre-operative assessment of patients
  • Order special tests for medication of patients before administering anaesthesia
  • Conduct anaesthesia on patients
  • Report condition changes of a patient to surgeon or relevant attendant
  • Manage fluid, electrolytes and acid/base disturbances
  • Shock management
  • Record patients’ data in relevant registers
  • Aggregate analysing and interpretation of data
  • Disseminate information to all relevant stakeholders including submission of weekly reports to the designated officer
  • Any other duties that may be deem reasonable for the post.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree holder in Anesthesia obtained from a recognized training institution and must be registered with the relevant professional body. Those with Diploma plus 3 years’ experience are encouraged to apply.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as Anesthetic Clinical Therapist.

3. Job Title:Senior Nursing Sister (1)

Grade: J (Government Salary Segment)
Reporting to: Nursing Officer
Location: Embangweni Mission Hospital

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct nursing/midwifery care to all patients with health problems and use nursing/midwifery processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing/midwifery care;
  • Build therapeutically relationship with patients, their relatives and fellow health workers;
  • Observe patient’s condition, progress and documents findings and implementations;
  • Evaluate care given to patients and takes appropriate action;
  • Conduct health education to individuals, families and communities;
  • Control and monitor resources;
  • Supervise nurse midwife technicians, subordinates and students.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Registered Nursing from a reputable training institution with 2 years’ experience in a busy hospital environment. Registered with Nurses and Midwife Council of Malawi
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience at that grade
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Good Communication skills
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision

4. Job Title:Nurse and Midwife Technician (3)

Grade: K (Government Salary Segment)
Reporting to: Registered Nurse (Ward In-Charge)
Location: Embangweni Mission Hospital

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide nursing services to patients.
  • Prepare health tips and talks to the patients
  • Supervise cleanliness of the wards
  • Order drugs for the patients from the pharmacy
  • Select very sick patients requiring special attention
  • Prepare patients before going to the theatre for C/Section (Operation)
  • Supervise the caring of patients to and from the theatre
  • Record patients’ data in relevant registers/charts
  • Analyse data and submit periodic reports to the Ward In-Charge
  • Accompany and assist doctors or Clinical Officers during ward rounds, clinics and procedures
  • Compile handover notes to be submitted to the next nurse on duty
  • Attend morning reports
  • Compile death reports
  • Assist mothers (patient) on Ant Natal Clinic
  • ART administration.
  • Attend to mothers on delivery at Labour ward
  • Carry out postnatal checkups at Labour ward
  • Attend to sick babies in nursery room
  • Receive and resuscitate babies after C/Section (Operation)

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from a reputable training institution with 2 years’ experience in a busy hospital environment.

5. Job Title: Accounts Assistant (1)

Grade: M (Government Salary Segment)
Reporting to: Assistant Accountant
Location: Embangweni Mission Hospital

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The general duties and responsibilities of the post will the following:

  • Issue of receipts for services/goods paid for
  • Check authorization and issue of salary cheques
  • Balance and update salaries ledger
  • Recording receipts and cheques in cash books
  • Prepare and recording of payment vouchers
  • Write of remittance payment vouchers and cheques
  • Prepare invoices and cash controls
  • Manage the petty cash system
  • Manage control accounts (receivables and payables)
  • Ensure safe custody of accounting records
  • Timely post of all transactions into the QuickBooks accounting system
  • Ensure that all necessary supporting documents are available for processing payments
  • Prepare bank reconciliation statements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of certificate in accounting from a recognized institutions and those with diploma in accounting will have added advantage
  • A minimum of 1 year working experience

6. Job Title: Records Assistant (1)

Grade: M (Government Salary Segment)
Reporting to: Assistant Human Resource Management Officer
Location: Embangweni Mission Hospital

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Open personal files for newly recruited employees and archive them properly.
  • Assist the Assistant Human Resources Management Officer and Human Resources Management Officer in conducting interviews.
  • Ensure that the Human Resources Management Office has all necessary forms and updates the stocks of such forms.
  • Procure office stationery through internal order books.
  • Update file and archive personal files and other office documents.
  • Provides support services to the Assistant Human Resources Management Officer and Assistant Records Officer in preparing office reports as necessary.
  • Make sure the office and work area is clean.
  • Assist the office Senior Administrative Officer in preparing fuel report on a daily basis.
  • Work with the Assistant Human Resources Management Officer and Assistant Records
    Officer in identifying payroll anomalies regarding Old Mutual pension benefits and correct accordingly.
  • Attend to employee queries and capture such issues and bring them to the attention of Human Resources management Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must have Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).Those with Certificate in Human Resources Management/ Data Science/ ICT, will have added advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy organization
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills,
  • Must be a committed Christian

7. Job Title:Hospital Attendant (2)

 

Grade:O (Government Salary Segment)
Reporting to:Ward In-Charge
Location:Embangweni Mission Hospital

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean rooms, offices, corridors, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
  • Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Sweep, scrubbing, waxing, or polish floors, using brooms and mops
  • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary
  • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
  • Move patients using wheel chairs or stretchers
  • Bath, feed and dress patients who have no guardians
  • Make beds for patients
  • Take linen to and from the Laundry
  • Escort patients to other units or hospitals
  • Supervise cleanliness of the ward

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must have Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
