The Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawian candidates to fill the following vacant posts existing at Phalombe District Council.
1. Post: Nursing Officer (Mental Health)
Grade: I/M6
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Nurse Midwife Technicians (Mental Health) (Grade J/M8) with
a minimum of Four years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities or in possession of a Bachelor`s Degree in Mental Health (Nursing) obtained from accredited institutions and must be registered with Nurses Council of Malawi.
2. Post: Clinical Officer (Mental Health)
Grade: I/M6
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Clinical Technicians (Mental Health) (Grade J/M8) with a
minimum of Four years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities or in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health (Clinical) obtained from accredited institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
3. Post: Director of Agriculture
Grade: E/M2
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Chief Agriculture Officers, Chief Irrigation Officers or Chief
Fisheries Officers (Grade F/M3) with a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
4. Post: Director of Human Resource and Administration
Grade: E/M2
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Chief Human Resource Management Officers (Grade F/M3)
or Chief Administrative Officers (Grade F/M3) with a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in Local Authorities.
5. Post: Chief Medical Officer
Grade: F/M3
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Principal Medical Officers (Grade G/M5) with a minimum of four (4)
years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
6. Post: Chief Nutrition and HIV/AIDS Officer
Grade: F/M3
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Principal Nutrition and HIV/AIDS Officers (Grade G/M5) with a
minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
7. Post: Principal Animal Health and Livestock Development Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Animal Health and Livestock Development Officer (Grade
H/M5) regardless of experience at that grade or Animal Health and Livestock Development Officers (Grade I/M6) with a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
8. Post: Principal Medical Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Medical Officers (Grade H /M5) with a minimum of four (4)
years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
9. Post: Principal Health Promotion Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Health Promotion Officers (Grade H/M5) regardless of
experience at that grade or Health Promotion Officers (Grade I/M6) with a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
10. Post: Principal Human Resource Planning and Development Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Human Resource Management Officers, Senior Human
Resource Planning and Development Officers (Grade H/M5), regardless of experience at that grade or Human Resource Planning Officers (Grade I/M6) or Human Resource Management Officers (Grade I/M6) or Human Resource Development Officers (Grade I/M6) with a minimum of (4) years experience at that grade in the local Authorities.
11. Post: Principal Human Resource Management Officer
Grade: G/M4

Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Human Resource Management Officers, Senior Human
Resource Planning and Development Officers (Grade H/M5), regardless of experience at that grade or Human Resource Planning Officers (Grade I/M6) or Human Resource Management Officers (Grade I/M6) or Human Resource Development Officers (Grade I/M6) with a minimum of (4) years’ experience at that grade in the local Authorities.
12. Post: Principal Information Communication Technology Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Information Communication Technology Officer (Grade H/
M5) regardless of experience at that grade or Information communication Technology Officers (Grade I/M6) with a minimum of (4) years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
13. Post: Principal Water Resources Development Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Water Resources Development Officers (Grade H/M5),
regardless of experience at that grade or Water Resource Development Officers (Grade I/M6) with a minimum of four years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
14. Post: Principal Land Resource Conservation Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Land Resource and Conservation Officers (Grade H/M5),
regardless of experience at that grade or Land Resources and Conservation Officers (Grade I/M6) with a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
15. Post: Principal Social and Child welfare Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Social Welfare Officers (Grade H/M5), regardless of
experience at that grade or Social welfare Officers (Grade I/M6) with a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
16. Post: Principal Nursing and Midwifery Officer
Grade: G/M4
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Nursing and Midwifery Officers (Grade H/M5), regardless
of experience at that grade or Nurse and Midwifery Officers (Grade I/M6) with a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities.
17. Post: Legal Officer
Grade: H/M5
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be in possession of Degree in Law obtained from accredited institutions and
must be admitted to the BAR.
18. Post: Senior Irrigation Agronomist
Grade: H/M5
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Irrigation Agronomists (Grade I) with a minimum of 4 years’
experience at that grade in the Local Authorities
19. Post: Forestry Officer
Grade: I/M6
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Assistant Forestry Officers (Grade J/M8) with a minimum
of four years’ experience at that grade in the Local Authorities or in possession of a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Forestry Management or Natural Resources Management obtained from accredited institutions.
20. Post: Assistant Fisheries Officer
Grade: K/M8
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Fisheries Officers (Grade L/M9) with a minimum of four
(4) years’ experience at that grade or in possession of a Diploma in Fisheries Management or Aqua-Culture obtained from accredited Institutions.
21. Post: Assistant Community Development Officer
Grade: K/M8
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Community Development Assistants (Grade L/M9) with
a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in the Local Authorities or in possession of a Diploma in Community Development or a Diploma in Social work, Community Development obtained from accredited institutions.
22. Post: Assistant Valuation Officer
Grade: K/M8
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Land Economy, Real Estate, Land Administration,
Property Management or Land Management obtained from accredited institutions.
23. Post: Laundry Supervisor
Grade: K/M8
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Hospitality Management obtained from
accredited institutions.
24. Post: Clinical Officer (Anesthesia)
Grade: I/M6
Location: Phalombe District Council
Qualifications:
Applicants must be serving Senior Clinical Technicians (Grade J/M8) in possession of a
Diploma in Anesthesia with a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade in Local Authorities or in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine – Anesthesia obtained from accredited institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
