Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons of Malawi origin to fill vacant positions that have emerged at Malawi Engineering Institution (MEI) Head Office in Lilongwe. MEI was established under Section 3 of the Malawi Engineering Institution Act, 2019 as the sole authority for regulation of
engineering, the engineering profession and allied disciplines in Malawi.
To perform its functions effectively and efficiently, MEI now invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following positions:
Assistant Finance Officer
Grade: M5
Department / Division: Finance & Investments Division
Responsible to: Finance Officer
Purpose of the Job: Assisting in management of finances for the Institution
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Monitoring revenue collection, receivables, expenditure and payables
b) Reconciling bank statements
c) Assisting in preparation and remittances of PAYE
d) Keeping safe financial assets and accounting documents
e) Reviewing audit schedules
f) Maintaining Fixed Asset Register
g) Carrying out any other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Accounting or its equivalent, from a recognized Institution
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in busy accounting environment.
