Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons of Malawi origin to fill vacant positions that have emerged at Malawi Engineering Institution (MEI) Head Office in Lilongwe. MEI was established under Section 3 of the Malawi Engineering Institution Act, 2019 as the sole authority for regulation of
engineering, the engineering profession and allied disciplines in Malawi.
To perform its functions effectively and efficiently, MEI now invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following positions:
Procurement Assistant
Grade: M5
Department / Division: Human Resources and Administration Division
Responsible to: Administration and Human Resources Officer
Job Function: To facilitate cost-effective procurement of goods, works and services in line with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Act and ODPP Guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Assisting in development, implementation and reviewing procurement plans, policies, procedures, standards and regulations
b) Liaising with user departments to come up with correct product and service specifications
c) Preparing requests for quotations and bid documents
d) Sourcing goods, works and services
e) Assisting in closing, opening and evaluation of bid documents
f) Assisting in preparation and monitoring of procurement contracts
g) Preparing minutes and reports for the Internal Procurement
& Assets Disposal Committee (IPDC)
h) Carrying out any other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management or its equivalent
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position
