Vacancy Announcement – Commercial Projects Manager

NASCOMEX Limited, the commercial arm of NASFAM, is seeking the services of a suitably qualified individual to fill the vacant position of Commercial Projects Manager.

In line with its strategic development plan (SDP), NASCOMEX Limited has embarked on a drive
to grow contract sales to achieve projected growth in revenue and profitability which are key to the sustainability of the NASFAM system. With an anticipated growth in operations of commercial contracts segment, the company seeks to engage the services of a Commercial Projects Manager to manage the segment ensuring that targets and deliverables for projects are efficiently attained.

The position is directly answerable to the General Manager and is responsible for managing the project team. The position is available at the NASCOMEX Head Office in Kanengo, Lilongwe.

Specific duties and responsibilities include the following;

1. Review all commercial contracts and agreements and work with relevant departments to develop requirements (materials and other resources) for the successful implementation of the projects.
2. Develop project implementation strategies and related budgets, monitor expenditures and analyse variances to ensure efficient use of resources
3. Work with the Commodity Procurement and Administration Unit to ensure timely procurement and availability of materials and related resources required for the fulfilment of all projects and coordinate all activities to ensure timely delivery of products in line with customer standards and specifications.
4. Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure that adequate documentation is in place and that invoicing of all delivered consignments is done timely and that payments are made in accordance with agreed timelines
5. Work with relevant departments to develop viable and profitable commercial project proposals to support business development.
6. Assess and analyse risks for all commercial projects and associated operations and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.

Experience and Qualification

Qualification:

The Commercial Projects Manager must have a minimum qualification of Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Project Management or any related field from a recognised university.

Experience:

At least 5 years’ experience managing commercial oriented projects.

  • Must be a very organised person with the ability to multi task and prioritise high value activities
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills and ability to inspire good performance within the team
  • Must have excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills and the ability to interact with people at different levels.
  • Must have the ability to understand and analyse commercial projects and able to recommend strategies for mitigating risks and efficiently managing projects
  • Must have high levels of integrity
