VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Circle for Integrated Community Development (CICOD) is a Malawian national non-profit making on Governmental Organisation with an integrated approach towards development in the thematic areas of Sustainable Livelihoods; Environment and Climate Justice, Preventive Health and Good Governance. In a consortium involving Oxfam as lead with CICOD AND ELDS as direct implementers with funding from NORAD, CICOD will be implementing a project on Rooted in Diversity – Partnerhip for Food Security in Dowa District focusing on Neglected and Underutilised (Crop) Species (NUS). It is a 5-year project running from January 2024 to December 2028. CICOD is, therefore, calling for applications for the positions of Project Coordinator, Project Officer and Finance Officer tenable in Dowa district.
FINANCE OFFICER
Key Duties
1. Carrying out day-to- day financial transactions for a field office.
2. Managing and processing the cash for the office, which also involves maintaining a cash book and cash recap on a monthly basis.
3. Handles disbursement of all payment requests by entering all transactions in a spreadsheet,
correctly and in a timely manner.
4. The incumbent is also responsible for preparation of bank reconciliation statements on a monthly basis and retirement of floats. The incumbent is also responsible for timely filing of paperwork for all financial transactions processes.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Positions require candidates with a minimum of Degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness Management or Agriculture Economics with the Finance Officer required to have Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent professional qualification from a recognised institution based on the applied position
2. The Project Coordinator will have a minimum of 10 years post training experience in a similar project leadership and facilitation role and the rest of the positions will require a minimum of 5 years of experience with ability to work independently and in a team environment
3. Candidate to have excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills; participatory research, monitoring and evaluation skills; sound analytical and report writing skills; excellent computer knowledge and Motorcycle Riding Licence.
