By adopting a business approach to conservation, supported by do nor funding, African Parks aims at making each park sustainable in the long-term, thereby contributing to economic development and poverty alleviation. AP in Malawi currently manages Majete, Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserves and Liwonde National Park.

RESERVATION OFFICER
African Parks – Liwonde invites suitably qualified, experienced and dynamic person to fill the position of Reservation Officer tenable at Liwonde National Park.
The right candidate would be someone who is passionate about the work being done by African Parks in partnership with the Malawi Government within the conservation sector in Malawi. The Reservation Officer will be expected to do the following:
1. Visitor centre
- Management of the visitor centre staff with supervision from the Tourism Manager
- Management of the guest booking system for the reserve with supervision from the TM Interact with the finance department to account for revenue streams.
- Supervise management of the asset and infrastructure of the centre including maintenance of all tourism vehicles.
- Supervise management of the stock and sales of the shop.
- Supervise management of the food outlet at the centre.
- Help the TM to supervise some maintenance tasks assigned to casuals
- Create and assign work to staff when they don’t have guests to attend to.
2. Lodge Management
Assist in running of the lodge upon being requested by TM or PMU with or without the prese nce of the lodge manager.
3. Campsite management
Assist in running of GCC campsite upon being requested by TM or PMU with or without t he presence of the lodge manager.
4. Marketing function
- Suggest and help the TM to develop and promote new activities within the reserve.
- Check all social media platforms to familiarize yourself with special offers.
- Suggest to the TM should there be a need to establish offers depending on availability on the booking gild.
- Manage all bookings on the Res-request site
5. Logistics
- Maintain accurate APN Res-request bookings.
- Improve in country logistics for guests
6. Reporting
- Daily sales report to the PM through TM
- Monthly staff attendance report
- Inventory reports
- Other reports as requested
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience managing a lodge, hotel, or hospitality
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to oversee diverse team
- Proficiency in financial management, stock control, and budgeting.
- Advanced computer skills, especially in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Ability to live onsite and work flexible hours.
- Clean conduct record (no convictions).
