Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in culinary arts and a genuine passion for creating sweet and delectable treats. His/her commitment to upholding health and safety standards is crucial to ensuring the highest quality of service to our clients.
The ideal individual must aim to deliver exceptional culinary experiences and enhance customer satisfaction and foster the growth of our clientele
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a wide variety of cakes, pies, cookies, breads etc, following traditional and modern recipes.
- Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interests of customers.
- Decorate pastries using different kinds of icings, toppings etc, to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients and make appropriate orders within budget.
Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking - Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
- Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as pastry chef, baker or relevant role, preferably in a busy Hotel Kitchen.
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Organizing and leadership skills
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition.
- Culinary/degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
