TITLE: UNDERWRITER

LOCATION: Lilongwe
SCOPE OF ROLE
Reports to: Broking Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assessing and analysing risk.
• Preparing quotations for prospective clients.
• Calculating premiums.
• Handling and resolving customer complaints and disputes. Participating in product development.
• Ensuring adherence and compliance to all statutory requirements at all times.
• Keeping records of all paid policies.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

QUALIFICATION

• Minimum of Diploma in Insurance.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• At least 2 years’ work experience in the insurance industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of the laws and regulations governing Malawi’s financial sector.
