Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a UK based International humanitarian and development organization working in 35 countries. Islamic Relief Malawi has secured funding to implement two project in 2 districts, Mangochi and Blantyre Rural. The projects are Improving Learning Environment in Senenje Public School and “Creating Child-Friendly Schools in Blantyre Rural” respectively. Therefore, Islamic Relief Malawi is looking for competent candidates to fill the position of:
COMMUNITY MOBILISER- 2 Positions (1 in Blantyre and 1 in Mangochi)
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Contribute to the planning and efficient implementation of project activities that ensure the achievement of the project’s expected outcomes (Outcomes and Outputs)
- Conduct community mobilization and engagement to ensure project participants are fully aware of project objective and goals, selection criteria and CRM
- Collaborate and coordinate with community level structure members, committees and relevant stakeholder representatives from government department and NGOs
- Support in building local capacity and coach (in his/her area of expertise for empowerment) the beneficiaries, community structures and community volunteers participating in the project
- Prepare and timely submit individual technical quality field visit, activity and monthly Reports (Descriptive and Analytical); impact based reporting
- Contribute to the efficient use of the organization’s financial resources by avoiding the waste or misuse of project funds and provide solid data about AX account
- Execute all requests listed in the job description in accordance with the values, visions, mission of IR, compliance with directives, respect for procedures, compliance with the code of conduct
Qualification & Experience:
- A Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Public Health or any social course, those having a Degree will have added advantage.
- Candidates with WASH and Early Child Development Background will have an added advantage
- Candidate should have practical experience in MS office package and convesant with any internet application tool.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Social Mobilization and Community Engagement
- Possession of a Clean and Valid motorcycle driving license will be an added advantage
