TEACHING STAFF

MAPS Private Secondary School located in Naperi, Blantyre, Invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant teaching positions for Humanities (Social / Life Skills and Bible Knowledge) and Sciences (Mathematics and Biology).

JOB PURPOSE

To teach, mentor and help students to achieve their highest potential and pass with flying colors their national examinations

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should be mature and well experienced with good people management and dispute resolution skills, holding a Degree or Diploma in Education or any Education related qualification obtained from an accredited institution with a minimum of three years teaching experience. Applications should be in any of the following disciplines: – Humanities (Social / Life Skills and Bible Knowledge) and Sciences (Mathematics and Biology).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates will carry out the following duties:

a. Identify and prepare learning and teaching materials;
b. Devise methods and resources of teaching and assessing students;
c. Create and maintain a conducive teaching and learning environment;
d. Formulating and marking tests and examinations in line with set timelines and maintaining all records;
e. Attend to all school activities as may be required from time to time.
f. Planning i.e. Teaching and schemes and records of work preparation and submission in line with set timelines and maintaining all records;
g. Acting as a role model to students (punctuality, dressing and general mannerisms)
h. Excellent communication skills in English and Chichewa, and good interpersonal and presentation skills.
