HEAD OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer
JOB PURPOSE
To lead digital strategy and ensure our organization remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive digital transformation strategy that aligns with our business objectives. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in digital and data Strategies implementation, systems development and business intelligence, within the financial services industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement digital initiatives, including process automation, data analytics, and customer experience enhancement
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for digital innovation and drive the adoption of new technologies
- Oversee the design and maintenance of data architectures, drive data monetization efforts and prioritize data quality initiatives.
- Oversee the integration of digital solutions across various business units, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the company at the forefront of digital advancements.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to achieve digital transformation objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executives on digital transformation and data strategy and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field (master’s degree preferred). Those with a qualification in data science will have an added advantage.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of digital technologies, including Al, machine learning, block-chain, and cloud computing.
- Ability to think strategically and drive change in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Applicant must be a member of the ICT Association of Malawi.
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ Years experience in leading and managing digital transformation initiatives within a company, preferably in the insurance and banking sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute digital and data strategies that align with business goals.
- In-depth understanding of the insurance and banking industries, including regulatory requirements and market trends.
- Experience in integrating digital technologies to enhance business processes and customer experiences.
- Extensive experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from inception to completion.
- Ability to oversee project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
