Luxury Resort

Our company is a rapidly growing luxury beach resort looking to set itself apart in the Malawian market. We are looking for an experienced candidate for the position of Resort Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of the resort, with a key focus on maintaining luxury standards and providing all guests with quality services while maximizing revenue and productivity.

Overview

The role requires you to establish and maintain international luxury standards, working together with staff to support and guide them in upholding these standards, setting apart the resort from competition. You will need to be flexible, adaptable and make sure our guests have the best possible luxury experience and encourage them to return.

You will work together with the Senior Manager- Commercial, to develop and manage successful sales strategies to increase overall occupancy and secure new business.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General

· Ensure the smooth running of the in-resort operations, maintaining a luxury standard throughout all

· Ensuring that guests’ needs are catered for and staff sufficiently supported

· Create a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and staff

· Available to answer any questions, or resolve any problems that the guests may have, always aiming to do whatever they reasonably can to ensure that guests have the best possible experience .

· On changeover days, help ensure a smooth transition between guests and ensure staff are organised and prepared

· Willing to assist in Chalets as an extra set of hands at any point needed in order to ensure the smooth running of the business

· Pro-actively identify areas of opportunity, develop and implement sales plan to increase revenue and visibility

· Maintain relationships with clients and drive repeat sales

· Maintain knowledge of competitors sales to generate future leads and improve product offering

Supervisory

· Through unannounced inspections, ensure that day to day service standards relating to the quality of food, housekeeping, hygiene, health and safety, personal presentation and childcare are maintained in the villas at all times. Also ensuring that guest services and amenities are all provided to the required standard and specification. Ensure that appropriate and timely feedback is given to those concerned as required.

· Help ensure effective communications within the team – including:

· organising and leading periodic meetings of the whole team or parts of the team as required

· preparing and delivering communications relating to guests, special occasions and events etc.

· Deal with first level staff disciplinary issues and grievances.

 

· Provide other assistance as requested by HR Manager or Operations Director

· Participate in periodic management team meetings as required to review and improve operational performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in luxury/high end hospitality management (international resort experience an added advantage)
  • Proven track record of effectively managing and leading a reservations team.
