NBS Bank Plc invites applications from suitably qualified and interested candidates to fill the following vacant positions.
HEAD OF SME
Reporting to the Chief Wholesale Banking Officer, the successful candidate will be responsibility for the management of the SME portfolio and coordination of all the relevant products, services and resources to achieve the agreed targets and profitability of the sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following, among other responsibilities:
- Provides leadership in the overall growth and profitability of SME.
- Leads in development of SME strategy for the bank
- Leads and supervises the annual budgeting process for SME in line with Wholesale Banking Strategy
- Drives profitable revenue and volume growth with a focus on new acquisition, deepening of existing customer relationships and cross sell thereby improving market and customer share of wallet with the Bank.
- Collaborates and coordinates with the development and implementation of sales initiatives with Retail Banking, Products, Treasury, Corporate and the Sales Team to maximize on cross-selling opportunities.
- Reviews & closely monitors sales pipelines for direct reports to ensure achievement of overall targets.
- Initiates and collaborates with products teams to identify and develop product solutions to meet the needs of SME customers
- Defines and manages customer retention strategies including reactive retention and proactive retention programmes.
- Leverages on customer research and competitor benchmarking on customer service and customer loyalty/advocacy metrics including NPS scores and drive initiatives to improve them.
- Collaborates with product, credit, digital, operations and functional teams to improve customer service delivery through turnaround times, service level agreements and process improvements.
- Develops and builds talent within department through optimal resourcing, capacity planning, succession planning and engagements.
- Drives and embeds a strong performance culture through an inspiring and rigorous performance management discipline.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related field from a recognized institution.
- Banking Qualification will be an added advantage.
- 8 years’ working experience in a banking environment with 3 years’ experience in heading the SME/Business banking segment.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Ability to manage and develop staff.
- Clear verbal and written communication and ability to prepare accurate reports.
- Ability to plan and organize in line with job requirements.
