Smallholder Farmers Fertilizer Revolving Fund of Malawi SFFRFM
The Smallholder Farmers’ Fertilizer Revolving Fund of Malawi (SFFRFM) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates of Malawi origin to fill the position of Assistant Internal Audit Officers tenable at its regional offices in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre.
The Assistant Internal Audit Officer will be reporting administratively to the Regional Business Manager and functionally to the Internal Audit Officer. The overall responsibility of the Assistant Internal Audit Officer will be to direct, research and design the appropriate audit strategies and tests aimed at evaluating systems of internal control and procedures that are put in place to provide assurance on adequacy and effectiveness of internal control risk management and corporate governance of the organization.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide internal audit services to the Fund
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviewing the Trust’s operational, accounting and other internal control systems and processes;
- Reviewing and enforcing compliance with the laws, regulations, internal policies, established systems and other directives;
- Maintaining audit files and audit registers;
- Monitoring implementation of risk management programs,
strategies and activities; - Conducting investigations on any incident of fraud, theft,
forgeries, accidents and other losses and advising on remedial measures; - Reviewing procedures and processes in accordance with audit plan
- Reviewing fixed assets and projects;
- Monitoring and offering advice on the performance of all
Sections at Regional level; - Preparing and submitting quarterly audit reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Auditing or Accounting.
- At least (3) years’ experience in auditing in a big organization
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of internal audit procedures, planning, techniques and methods;
- Knowledge of computerized accounting and auditing systems;
- Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate facts and to report;
- Professionalism and positive attitude;
- Good communication skills;
- Prescribes and believes in the Code of Ethics for Internal
Auditors; - An ability to work under minimum supervision;
- Must be available for extensive travel to all offices and depots.
