Montessori Training Center

Montessori Training Center is a college located in Nyambadwe, Blantyre District. It was established by WAY Ministries in 2008, with support from 13 teachers from United States of America. Our program was design in partnership with Montessori Training Center in Shingle Springs, California, USA. Montessori Training Center, is an organization dedicated to positively impacting the education system in Malawi. Our goal is to serve the children, families, and teachers of Malawi by providing quality Montessori education.

MTC offers comprehensive training programs in Montessori Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Parent Education. Our courses are designed to equip teachers and individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the field. Graduates of MTC’s programs are highly confident and find employment quickly, while some even venture to establish their own schools.

We wish to recruit highly qualified and experienced people to serve in the position of Full Time Lecturer in Early Childhood Development at Montessori Teacher Training College.

KEY JOB SUMMARY

The Montessori Training Center is seeking three full-time lectures in Early Childhood Development beginning September 2024. The lecturer will fulfill all the duties and responsibilities required as part of the faculty of a college.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  1. Masters Degree in Early Childhood Development or Early Childhood Education
  2. Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Development
  3. Two to four years relevant experience as an ECD lecturer at a college or university
  4. Montessori Early Childhood Education Teaching Credential added advantage

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Lecturers are responsible:

  1. To conduct teaching and provide academic support.
  2. To develop, review, deliver and update course plan in compliance with syllabus.
  3. To monitor student report progress.
  4. To set the examination papers and maintain quality standards.
  5. To perform the effective planning, implementation, & evaluation of student performance.
  6. To develop a classroom conducive learning environment for students.
  7. To perform any other academic-related duties and task.
  8. To work under the direction and authority of the Dean of Academics and College Registrar
  9. To work in effective collaboration with other colleagues in their department and at the college
  10. To have an excellent command of English communication skills along with administrative capabilities
  11. To have a solid knowledge and skill in using technology to teach, assess, and record grades, including all I.T. programs (power point, excel, electronic grading systems, etc.)
  12. To have a passion for teaching and willing to provide quality education to student
